Sports in the 2000’s compared to the sports in the 1920’s is a big difference. Sports today your ethnicity doesn’t matter , gender doesn’t matter , height , weight nothing matter besides the fact that you meet the requirements of the NFL , NBA and etc. 1920’s everything mattered espically the color of your skin.
1920’s Sports were called “ Golden Age Of Sports ” . Babe Ruth , Ty Cobb , Lou gehrig , Red Grange , Knute Rockne and Helen Willis are known for established records and in the process became legends. After the war was when Americans realized they could play sports and work. Sports have now became a big part of everyone’s life in this period. Rich , poor , middle class , everyone loved sports.
Once athletics got attention of the citizens , instead of citizens shopping and or buying other items they started buying tickets to see games now. The Jim Crow stopped talented African American men from playing sports with white men and when that happened the African Americans founded , owned and operated the “ Negro National Baseball League ”. African Americans were treated unfair with everything at this time including with sports , no matter if African American were good , they could not receive attention like the white men. White boxers did not want to fight African Americans , if they did fight they were virtually required African Americans to lose .
