The entertainment in the 1920’s played a big part! The 1920’s entertainment was very rich. Radios like crystal radios were the first radios to be used and manufactured. Crystal radios were easy to make from home. Then later on movies was becoming more popular in the 1920’s entertainment. With actors like Charlie Chaplin and Rudolph Valentino, theaters attracted people from everywhere.
The movie industry was becoming an even larger part of American culture. And when the sound and color were incorporated into films that had previously been silent and black and white, that’s when the music industry, in the 1920's had just begun. It was considered the "Jazz Age" because Jazz was very popular in America. One of the most famous musicians in the 1920's was Louis Armstrong. And in the 1920's were sometimes considered the turning point of music.
Other cultural things that came about in the 1920's were books, magazines, and cartoon characters. Winnie the Pooh and Betty Boop are two of the most well known cartoon characters from the 1920's. Mickey Mouse became popular in 1928. These characters are still around in the twenty-first century. They are all still loved by children until this day.
Magazines and books also became popular. Many publications were sold through bookstores while others were sold through the Book-of-the-Month Club and the Literary Guild. All of this still takes place today. Barnes and Noble is where it is still being sold and is also one of the biggest book selling companies in the world.
