Crime
Since the 1920’s , the crime now related to gang affiliation, bootlegging , prostitution , drugs and other illegal activities. The things now is nothing compared to the things going in the 1920. From the biggest mafia members to the biggest of the biggest massacres. Another major thing that was going in the 1920’s is the KKK and racial segregation of African Americans with White.
Al Capone was an american gangster who known for the most illegal activities in the Prohibition era. Al Capone is also known as Scarface as well because of the fact received his infamous facial scars when he insulted a patron and was attacked by her brother . Even though Al Capone was the baddest of bad gangsters in 1920’s he was a father and a husband .
In the 1920’s everything changed. “Gangsterism” started , bootlegging , prostitution , gambling and illegal activities . Many things have happened in the 1920’s such as Roaring Twenties which was when African Americans were only allowed to be singers or waitress , they couldn’t eat / drink in the club. Al Capone known as Scarface , is known for was responsible for many brutal acts of violence mainly against other gangster. St. Valentine’s Day Massacre happened which was on February 14 , 1929 , seven men associated with the Irish gangster George “Bugs” Moran, one of the Capone’s longtime enemies , were shot to death by several men dressed as policemen . The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre as it was known was never officially linked to capone but he was generally considered to have responsible for the murders.
With all of the violence with gangs and illegal activities you would think , Americans would try and get along , but that isn’t the case. KKK members started killing African Americans because of the simple fact that KKK members didn’t like African Americans. African Americans were burned in their homes , hung by KKK members and etc. KKK members threatened Africans Americans to the extreme during this era .
